The streets of Victorian England come to life as Oliver, a malnourished orphan in a workhouse, becomes the neglected apprentice of an undertaker. Oliver escapes to London and finds acceptance amongst a group of petty thieves and pickpockets led by the elderly Fagin. When Oliver is captured for a theft that he did not commit, the benevolent victim, Mr. Brownlow takes him in. Fearing the safety of his hideout, Fagin employs the sinister Bill Sikes and the sympathetic Nancy to kidnap him back, threatening Oliver’s chances of discovering the true love of a family.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION, TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR RED CURTAIN THEATRE'S YOUTH MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP AND PRODUCTION OF OLIVER! JR
SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT CASTING: Oliver! Jr will have two orphan ensembles. Both orphan ensembles will rehearse together, but will perform on separate weekends. The "Pip Pip Orphan Ensemble" will perform December 13-15 and the "Cheerio Orphan Ensemble" will perform December 20-22.
REGISTRATION: This workshop is for ages 10-18. Registration will be available online from August 24, 2024 through September 6, 2024 or until registration is full, and will be on a first come, first serve basis. A limited number of spots are available for this workshop. Once the workshop is full, a waiting list will be established. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WORKSHOP IS FULL. BY PROCEEDING YOU WILL BE PLACED ON A WAITING LIST. IF SPOTS BECOME AVAILABLE, THEY WILL BE OFFERED ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS ACCORDING TO THE WAITING LIST.

AUDITIONS: Auditions will be held September 15 (new date!) at Red Curtain Theatre in Downtown Conway (913 W Oak Street, across the street from the Chamber of Commerce). You will schedule an audition as part of the registration process. Every participant will be cast, auditions are for role placement only.
AUDITION PREPARATION: An email will be sent prior to auditions with song selections that you may choose from for your audition. The song you select will need to be memorized. You will sing along with an accompanist during your audition. You may also be asked to do a cold reading during your audition. Everyone will also learn a short dance sequence with our choreographer.
REHEARSALS: Rehearsals will be Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays from 6-9pm beginning October 21, 2024. Rehearsals will be held at Red Curtain Theatre in Downtown Conway (913 W Oak Street, across the street from the Chamber of Commerce). There will be a Saturday tech rehearsal on Saturday, December 7 from 10am-4pm. The final tech/dress rehearsal with the Pip Pip Orphan Ensemble will be held on Thursday, December 12 from 6-10pm. The final tech/dress rehearsal with the Cheerio Orphan Ensemble will be held on Thursday, December 19 from 6-10pm.
PHOTO CALL: Publicity photos will be taken Saturday, December 7 from 5-7pm at RCT. All cast will be called for publicity photos.

TICKETS: You will be notified when tickets go on sale. Tickets may be purchased online at redcurtaintheatre.com or at the door.
REFUND POLICY: If you register then choose to withdraw from the workshop, we must be notified at least one week prior to the start of rehearsals. Please note that $50 of the registration fee is non-refundable due to materials that will have already been purchased for you. If cancelation occurs less than a week before rehearsals begin, no refunds will be issued.
ATTENDANCE POLICY: Attendance at rehearsals is extremely important when preparing for such a large production and we encourage each participant to be at every rehearsal if possible. Any conflicts with rehearsal must be disclosed and approved in advance. Exceptions to this rule due to extenuating circumstances are at the discretion of the director. If you are removed due to attendance issues, the registration fee will not be reimbursed.
ATTITUDE AND BEHAVIOR POLICY: Red Curtain Theatre's mission is to provide an atmosphere that nurtures and inspires actors of all ages by offering performance opportunities through community theatre, youth workshops, private instruction, and dance. Negative attitudes and/or behavior will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to the use of foul language, disrespect toward the director, crew, volunteers and/or cast members, bullying, teasing and unwillingness to participate. The director has the option to remove you from the workshop due to poor attitude and/or behavior as determined by the director. If there is a situation where behavior and/or attitude is determined to be a problem, you will be notified once within 24 hours after rehearsal. If the situation does not improve by the following rehearsal, you will not be allowed back. If you are removed from our workshop due to negative attitude or behavior, the registration fee will not be reimbursed.
